Hi guys! I've got a special surprise here for you! The beautiful Jessica behind jessica chronicled is going to show you her go-to style pieces (and boy, are they lovely!). I'm crazy excited about this guest post (think jumping out of my seat and spinning around excited). Jessica's blog is one of my favorites. She has killer style and the cutest since of humor. And she just got a puppy! So, my lovely randomness readers, let me introduce you to Jessica!

Hi Randomness readers! I'm so thrilled to be guest posting here for Addie today! My name is Jessica and I blog over at jessica chronicled. I write a lot about style, photography, faith, and the two loves of my life...my hubby and our new pup. Here, I'm going to share with you a few of the "go-to" pieces in my closet, that is, the pieces that I always turn to when I need to complete an outfit, when I'm not sure what to wear, or that just go with everything.

1. The black lace vest.

The thing I love most about this vest is that it goes with anything, but I guess that's kind of true about all things lace. I can put this over a tshirt, a button up, a dress, or pretty much anything other than sweatshirts and blazers. It can be dressed up for work with a skirt or dressed down for the weekend with some jeans.

2. Tall boots.

In all honesty, those mornings when have class and I don't pick clothes out the night before, I usually end up putting on jeans + these boots and THEN deciding what to pair with them. Basically because I know I can pair them with so much, I just go ahead and put them on. I've worn these so many times the heels are wearing down. I usually wear them to class or for weekends, but I did dress them up with a lace skirt and wear it to church.

3. A pair of pink tights.

I think every lady needs to add at least one pair of colored tights to her wardrobe. I have several colors, but the pink pair is what I wear most often, probably because it's a little less bright. And also, because I love pink. Colored tights are great because 1)They let you wear tights in cooler weather without freezing 2)They add a pop of color to an outfit and 3)Sometimes they save you from having to shave your legs (it's true). I really love pairing them with black and white, but recently I've been a little more daring and paired them with more color. Either way, you can't go wrong.

4. Red peep toes wedges.

If my blog readers had to pick one item that I've worn way too much, I'd bet it would be these red shoes. I'm pretty sure the cost per wear is down to about 10 cents and I'm not done with them yet! The easy thing about these shoes is that they tend to go with so many colors and outfits. Sometimes, I may be not so crazy about my outfit, but after adding these red shoes, it has the pop or personality that it needed. And I definitely don't limit myself to wearing these with black and white, and usually, I don't even have anything else red in my entire outfit. I let these wedges take the stage.

5. A striped sweater in neutral colors.

Having a striped sweater in neutral colors (like black and white) is a wonderful thing. I have a plethora of scarves, and basically I can wear any of them with this sweater and my outfit looks at least a little different than before. And it's completely effortless to throw on this sweater and a scarf, there's no thought process to it. Another thing I love is that this is the easiest wardrobe piece I have to work with pattern mixing. Stripes tend to go with anything. You can pair stripes with polka dots, or plaid, but you can't always pair polka dots and plaid. The basic line pattern goes better with most patterns, and the neutral color scheme allows you to pair it with any color. And as warm weather approaches, you can also change this out for a striped tee or tank.

Well there you have it! My five, most worn pieces in my wardrobe! I hope some of this was helpful to you. Maybe you now have new ideas for how to wear pieces you already own, or maybe you have a better idea of some basic pieces you can add to your wardrobe. And most of these pieces can be found for pretty inexpensive prices. And thanks so much to Addie for having me guest post!

Hi Guys. I'm actually being summoned by a pile of assignments (those little stinkers) but decided that you all were just too exciting to pass up on. At least that's what I'm telling myself. I'm really good at avoiding situations by convincing myself they're really not what they appear. (me blogging is me blogging because I looooove to blog not because I'm avoiding piles of assignments.) So let's not spoil this little secret of mine. I knew I could count on you.

Boy wind can be a meany sometimes. I was just trying to mind my own little business, doing my own little posing thing and bam! it has to come and make everything awkward. Let's just say the whole in like a lion thing is pretty stinking right. chiffon skirts on a windy day are a no-no. (If I flashed you, so sorry.) Thankfully this chick was prepared and had a pair of jeans just waiting to be thrown on.

yes. I'm on of those girls.

So take that wind! There is no taking me down with your blustery self! The posing must go on! My dedication astounds me sometimes too.

Today let's talk about spring! Many of you have probably heard that the big thing this spring is color. If you're not in love with loads of bright color all over you, than accessorize with it! Think bright and playful. But you can't really play with color unless you have your wardrobe basics to build on. Most of your spring basics you probably already have from last year. Hello lovelies! Boy have I missed you! This here bloggity blog has been sorely neglected this month. But I'm back and have so much planned to share with you in the coming weeks and months!

I've finally started a blog binder and have no idea why I have not done this before! Basically it has several sections: a calender where I can plan out posts, a sponsor/partner list, and random ~~scribbles~~ notes. I don't want to plan out a post for every single day. That's never any fun. But as ideas and inspiration come I want a place to write them down and plan them so they can actually get to you! So ready or not, blogging world, I'm organized (ha! who am I kidding!) and have tons of great guest posts, outfits, and tutorials to share with you! Woohoo!

In other news, how great is this weather!? You can't beat 70 degrees in February. I just couldn't resist a long, flowing skirt and a tank.

Let's talk jeans

Let's talk about jeans today!

I've had a few of you all ask me what my favorite brand of jeans are and why.

For me, price is really the deciding factor. I'm sure $250 jeans will be better quality than my $20 ones but this girl's on a budget. 'nuff said.

I've got American Eagle, New York and Company, Levis, Gap, and Old Navy jeans hanging in my closet. Yes. I hang up my jeans. All of them are 'good' jeans but Old Navy has my absolute favorite. I own 4 pairs of their jeans in different cuts and washes because you just can't beat them.

I picked most of mine up for $15 (Holla!) and they honestly don't feel like $15 jeans.

They do run a little large so go with a smaller size than you usually would.

I've tried a few of their different cuts but the Diva is consistently my favorite. Definitely the most flattering skinny jean I own.

I also have a pair of trousers via Old Navy and I adore them!

The Joy of being a Street Fashion Blogger

I'm not sure I fully fit into the category of street fashion blogger but I've been called one a few times so we're just going with it.

I usually take my photos right around my house but sometimes I find myself wandering the streets of downtown Raleigh and decide an outfit shoot must happen then and there.

And so it does.

Though I always end up getting a crop of photos full of people just realizing they were being photographed or trying to hurry out of the frame...or trying to hurry into the frame.

Oh I love being a street fashion blogger.

There are some store names that leave me confused.

Like the Dress Barn.

The dress barn.

Really? You're sure that's the one you want to stick with?

And then there's The Bra Patch.

I thought naming dolls the cabbage patch kids was bad enough but the Bra Patch is taking it to a whole new level.

You know those convenience stores called Wawa's?

I can't say it with a straight face. Every time I hear "Wawa" I see Annie Sullivan holding Helen Keller's hands under a pump while Helen screams "wawa!! wawa!!"

And I passed a Chinese shop the other day called Hung Far Low.

we'll just leave it at that.

I saw this next one on a t-shirt and asked the guy about it and he said it was a legit shop (his brother's, actually) It's Nolan's Pottery and Used Cars. Why in the world would you pair pottery and used cars?

There's this barber shop downtown called Jack the Snipper. Is this a business name or a warning?

Last one: Coffin shoes. I do hope their motto is 'The last pair of shoes you'll ever need!' or perhaps 'Kicks for when you kick!'

Would you all kill me if I admitted that I have never even been to H&M until this past weekend?

You would? Ok. In that case I definitely did not just admit it.

But seriously, loves, this store is genius.

As much as I love forever21...let's just say that there's chaotic and there's forever21.

H&M is not only priced at right about the same as forever21 but you can actually enter their stores and not feel like someone just hit you with one of those yoga gongs and now you're seeing triples of everything.

Now if only I could find my camera battery charger.

That's what this post is supposed to be all about but I thought I'd let you in on my new found love as well.

And let's move onto another well-known love of mine. shoes.

Sorry that I've been a little MIA these past few days.

First, I lost the cord for my laptop so it died (+ no internet)

Second, I've just been too busy living up the last few days before school starts up again.

Hanging out with some fantastic people (you can see them here, here, here, and here!)

Also, celebrated my birthday early (it's not till late January) with friends back home

which included a wonderful party complete with mustaches on sticks.

(they're my fav.)

I hope you all had a marvelous Christmas! I most definitely did!

My parents surprised my sibs and I with a trip to Williamsburg and Busch Gardens so I'm currently sitting on a heavily comforted, bleached white bed in a beautiful Hilton Garden Inn (room 204 to be exact. Please don't come visit me.)

Busch Gardens was stunning. There were Christmas lights absolutely everywhere and it was breathtaking.

We're planning to go visit Colonial Williamsburg tomorrow.

Because I've lived so close my entire life, I've visited it many times but I love it more every time I come.

History nut? I think yes.

I hope you all had lovely Christmases (get anything especially good?) and will have splendid New Years!

the art of pretending (bum bum bummmm...it's not that bad. I promise.)

So I decided I better not die and make this little bloggy (err maybe not) live on by itself so here I am, not fully dead, but not quite back to my usual self. That may be a good thing but we shall not dwell on that and instead let's dwell about why in the world someone would create words like dwell and shall.

(ticktockticktockticktock...)

ok. now that we have thought on that for a bit, let's practice the art of pretending you're not sick and how that all goes down while shooting an outfit for your blog. or just shooting in general.

With a camera. Leave the guns shoved up on top of your incredibly dirty shelf where they belong.

Sounds good? excellent!

Let's get started...

1. Sit down for at least some of the pictures.

This way people don't see you about to fall down because your legs are too tired to hold you up any longer. I tried to tell mine that I wasn't that heavy. They didn't listen to me.

2. Take photos of your beautiful new shoes (so you can sit down just a wee bit longer).

Aren't they just the bombdiggity? (Thanks Nana <3)

3. Zone out. That vacant stare? yes. That's me. I was thinking about cotton candy and puppies.

Just kidding. I was hating on myself for letting myself endure the absolute torture of having myself photographed so myself could post them on a blog and write all about the photos of myself.

4. Repeat! (just with a full body shot. You can tell your photographer Addie said so.

That probably won't mean a thing to them but that's beside the point.

And if you take your own photos...I'm pretty jealous of your fancy schmancy remote

or your incredibly ability of being able to post in front of a tripod with self timer.

I just find that much too awkward to handle.

Because posing in front of your all-too-cool, teenage little brother isn't awkward at all.)

5. Dance a little bit and than promptly pass out on the wet grass that is wet and not snow covered because it's a disgusting 67 degrees outside.

. . .

I didn't really pass out. I'm not that graceful. I just sat down rather hardly on that wet grass and succeeded in wetting my pants in a rather unfortunate place.

(me: 'No, really! I didn't pee in my pants. gosh.')

6. Enjoy the wonderfulness of your wool poncho that you paid nothing for and than creep your way back inside and promptly pass out on your bed because who knew all that was so exhausting?

As I mentioned in this post, I was out of town (visiting friends back home in Charlottesville, VA) from Friday until mid Monday (which was excellent).

I was hoping to get a post up Monday afternoon but decided to get super sick instead.

Great idea, right? And I figured the timing couldn't possibly be even better, it being 4 days till Christmas and all (that was all sarcasm, of course).

I've been running a fairly consistent 102 fever for the past two days and it's been absolutely horrible.

That and a sore everything possible. and headaches. and I can't swallow hardly anything.

The pain I can handle. It's annoying but it's not that bad. It's this complete weakness that is miserable.

Every time I get up I feel like I'm going to pass out.

I can't even lift a milk jug out of the refrigerator.

As long as this is all gone by Christmas, I'll be fine.

And I've got quite a few new clothing pieces I can't wait to show you.

But that will have to wait until I don't look like I was run over by a truck, chewed up by a mad Dr. Seuss creation, and swung around like a rag doll.

i'm a bit of a grandma

This was my first year participating in the Cold Hands, Warm Hearts swap (hosted by Sandy a la Mode and Much Love, Illy) and I absolutely loved it!

I'm a bit of a grandma when it comes to snail mail. It's my favorite. There's just something about receiving a letter or even better, a package, that is just excellent.

My swap partner is the lovely Caroline from Good Times Never Sew Good (cute name, right?)

Her adorable package, complete with the beautiful scarf, gloves, boots seen above and the lovely necklace seen here, dark chocolate (she completely won my heart with this), a crazy fun card that she made, and it was all wrapped up in cloth! I love it when people wrap surprises in cloth because I can 'recycle' it - which I did. See that mustard yellow headband hanging out on my forehead? Yup. I made that. From the wrapping.

Pretty proud of myself too.

those darn contagious fashion diseases

I thought I'd try a 'snooki poof' and to be honest, I think I'm too white to pull it off well.

You get what I mean. There's white and there's white. I'm white.

But I did have a bunch of fun with it yesterday. I felt all sassy and confident like mmmmm gurrrl.

Anyone else loving knotting their shirts? It completely rids your outfit of all those awkward lumps. wonderful.

So if you haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet, just beware, it's addictive.

I keep finding myself wanting to knot shirts that shouldn't be knotted and wanting to pair them with skirts, pants, and dresses that really shouldn't be worn with a shirt that shouldn't be knotted.

So when you come running back to me crying because you've caught the 'i-have-to-knot-every-shirt-and-pair-it-with-everything disease,' I warned you.

And while you're watching out for the 'i-have-to-knot-every-shirt-and-pair-it-with-everything disease,' also keep an eye out for the highly contagious 'omg-it's-another-pair-of-colored-tights disease.'

I have both and am enjoying it ever so much.

This colored jeans trend is probably my favorite since the whole jean shirt thing (but I'm still loving on my silly attempt on my jeans shirt...which you'll be seeing more of later today!)

I think I'm going to let my bangs grow out. I liked them on other people and kinda hoped

they would look as awesome on me as they did on Sydney...or Zooey Deschanel...but they really didn't and cramped my already small face so they're gonna go.

And isn't this outfit pretty amazing?

I'll let you in on a little secret: I actually wore this yesterday.

And most of my outfit are from the day before. I usually have my 'photoshoots' in the late afternoon-evening,

edit them at night, write the post either that same night or early the next morning and post it in the morning.

(this is where you say 'great story bro!')

This is what I'm dubbing as exam attire (I know, I know. all i talk about around here now are exams but I'm done Friday! And after exams I'm throwing myself a little party because I deserve it.

And yes. I'm usually this humble.)

This made me feel like I was totally wearing my pj's which is pretty excellent. Comfy comfy comfy.

Maybe it's not the most fashionably creative thing I've ever worn but it's

I've got some insane studying for exams.

I've got a ridiculously hard art history exam that is probably going to end with me studying my butt off

but barely passing it. Who knew art history could be so hard?!?

And don't even get me started on logic. Who even takes logic in high school? me apparently.

And latin? Let's just not mention latin. That's not gonna be a pretty test.

Well, with those encouraging words (ha!), I shall bid you farewell and sink into my

pit of despair and maniac studying.

I'm doing this thing I guess you could call a 'diet.' but I hate the word diet. So we're just

going to call it a foodie escapade because that really is much more exciting.

I'm only eating meat, fruit, and vegetables for three weeks.

No grains. very little dairy. no processed foods. no sugars.

This girl was sure she was going to die without her chocolate. and toast. and homemade milkshakes.

But nope! I've gone a week with only fruits, veggies, and meet!

Pretty proud of myself.

Basically I eat eggs for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and something just a bit more exciting for dinner.

Like the first few photos show a shrimp taco with guacamole.

It's kind of my new favorite meal and it's. so. easy.

And the second one is a pork loin, salad with mustard dressing, and a tomatoes.

And dang that was one good piece of meat.

I'm such a foodie.

and that's how we do thanksgiving in the south.

the thing is: I wasn't born in the south. I was actually born quite up north (Boston, MA) but I

grew up in Charlottesville, Va (it' doesn't get much more beautiful) and recently

moved to Raleigh, NC.

So I count myself to have that wonderful southern charm. just kidding. just kidding.

But seriously, there is nothing quite like a good ole southern thanksgiving, charm and all.

Football. seriously is there such thing as Thanksgiving without football? I think not.

pie. duh. pumpkin, apple, chocolate fudge, lemon chess. you gotta have it all.

lots and lots of people. 6 is not a party. neither is 9 or 12...you must have at least 15 excited people running around the house...or driving themselves around on a cart that was found under the house. (we had 18 partying, thankful people around here...we've had more than 30 over for thanksgiving before!)

sweet potatoes covered in melted, crispy marshmallows and crunchy pecans must make a presence.

It's like a dessert except it's a vegetable and no one judges if you have oh four or nine helping.

(yes I had quite the food baby)

photo bombs. There were an insane amount of these throughout the day and it was excellent.

In an exasperating kind of way.

Turkey doesn't look quite as picturesque with a little cousin making a goblin face behind it.

posing with oranges...? Wasn't aware that this was a traditional part of a southern thanksgiving

You'd be surprised how good stuffing topped with cranberry sauce is.

Beautiful, right? We just took raffia and taped leaves on and bam! it looked like Paula Deen had graced our

house with her skills. We were going to clothespin them but the weight of the leaves vs. the weight

of the clothespin just didn't quite equal out. (as in they flipped over and it just didn't look right.)

...stuffing...two kinds of sweet potatoes...cranberry sauce...mashed potatoes...turkey...ham rolls...green beans...fruit...etc.

Sister and I went thrifting the other day which resulted in these sweaters (among a few great skirt finds!)

We found them in the guy's section because there is a sad amount of

fantastic, ugly sweaters in the woman's section.

Aren't they the most hideous yet beautiful thing you've ever seen?

And they were perfect for hiding that after-thanksgiving-dinner food baby.

I'm a bit of a crowd hater. Especially when it involves a couple thousand screaming woman.

So I stayed home and ignored the fact that cyber Monday is on, well, Monday

and made a few splendid purchases from Forever 21, Blowfish shoes, and Urbanog.

Blowfish shoes had 18% off everything (who came up with 18% off?) and free shipping. Holla!

And forever 21 had a seemingly endless supply of $1.50 necklaces. I was in heaven.

I woke up at 5:30 this morning because I was so excited.

I love Thanksgiving. I love the fellowship…the food…how festive is everything is.

I like how I called home yesterday, my sister and I were out thrifting, and my mum and little sister were talking in a cross between English cockney accents and Irish accents because ‘they were pilgrims.’

I like how everything in the house smells like cranberries and cinnamon.

I love the fellowship. It’s probably my very favorite aspect of the holidays. Remember how my family and I moved to North Carolina this past summer? Where we moved, Raleigh has a bunch of my cousins, and aunts, and uncles, and my grandparents. Many of them are coming over here and we’re just going to party it out. I love it when every room in the house is filled with people celebrating, laughing, eating, dancing, playing, reading together. Must be the inner southern girl in me.

And the food. I love the food. I could talk for hours on what your thanksgiving meal should include (pie. Plenty of pie.) but I really would much rather go gobble it down (pun fully intended).

1. Thanks for your sweet comments on my post yesterday. They were amazing and encouraging.

2. So thrilled that the weekend is finally here. This girl's been waiting since last Monday.

3. Planning on making a craft store run today...it's about time to get started on Christmas presents! I know, so hard to believe it's that time already. And yes. we have not quite a month an a half until Christmas...but I'm not crafty at all so it's going to take me a while to get all of these made.

4. Peppermint tea is fantastic.

5. So are bright red lips. (lipstain is my best friend)

6. I'm like a little kid - counting down the days until Christmas...and Thanksgiving. I start planning for the holidays in, no joke, July. They just can't come soon enough. I love everything about them...the lights...the singing...the sweets...the gift giving...the amazing food (holla at me food lovahhh's)...the traditions (Fiddler on the Roof, anyone?)...the weather...I just love it.

7. Pretty sure my favorite genre of music is Christmas.

Lasagna.

It's the epitome of comfort food. right up there with mac n' cheese.

These past few days have been calling for comfort food.

Scratch that. these past few weeks.

It's just been rough.

Emotionally. Physically. And spiritually.

So you know how people always say 'a roller coaster of emotions?'

Yeah. I think I get that a little better.

I wish I could blame my loops and drops and twists on hormones.

or at least on something really rough that happened.

But I really can't. I've tried to explain why I've been all over the place and I just can't.

And it's horrible. Trying to keep those darn emotions that always seem to pop up at the wrong time

under control. It's just impossible.

I've also been sick. A lot. (which helps explain the lack of 'me' posts recently)

I've looked terrible.

I've had colds, migraines, major dehydration, weird 24 hour viruses,

and I've had this horrible thing called stress.

I'll have moments when I can't think, breather, feel, see, hear...anything...because I am so stressed out.

Weird, right? Thankfully it only lasts a few seconds before I can get a hold of myself but it's no fun.

Spiritually? God's my best friend.

He's my daddy. My companion. The guy I tell all my secrets too because not only will he not tell anyone about them, he'll do something about them too.

I've been doing this fantastic Bible study on Revelations. It's amazing.

I feel so connected to Christ. It's like I've got him on speed dial and he answers before the first ring.

But sometimes I just want to shout at God.

Ask him why I'm stuck on this emotional roller coaster. Demand that he take my migraine away.

Tell him that I can't handle the stress anymore and that he better do something about it.

But He's just quiet...waiting for me to stop my tantrum so he can come give me a hug.

encourage me. fight for me. bless me. pour his love upon me.

Tell me I'm his little girl and he's not going to let anybody tear me down to a point I can't get back up.

That's not a fun point.

But it's the one where we either cave in and give up on our Daddy or let him lift us up so our trust in him is greater.

This post has already gone on too long.

I doubt many of you have gotten this far. That's ok. Long posts can be scary.

But if you have, thanks.

Thanks for reading my story. For giving me a slice of your time.

Sometimes getting your feelings out can be the best therapy there is.

When I was a little girl, I though I was going to turn into an mermaid when I got big.

I have no idea where I got this from...maybe from The Rainbow Fish book.

Anyone else remember that one? It's lying around on a book shelf somewhere in our house...

Anyway, it's about this fish who is sparkly and it always reminded me of a mermaid.

So I often had conversations like these:

Adult: So, Adelyn, what do you want to be when you get big?

Me: Oh. When I get big, I'm going to turn into a mermaid.

Adult: Really? So you aren't going to be a princess?

Me: that's silly. I can be a mermaid princess once I turn into a mermaid.

Adult: Oh. so could you be a fireman once you turn into a mermaid?

Me: If I wanted to. But fireman smell like smoke so I think I'll just work in a smelly good place when I'm a mermaid.

Adult: ...

About this same time, my little brother told people he wanted to be a volcano when he grew up.

What I would do to travel back in time to when I was 4 or 5.

Life seemed so perfect. Hmm. What bliss naivity is...

And I'm still waiting to turn into a mermaid.

I made molasses cookies.

And they didn't burn, explode, or dissolve into a pile of crumbs!

I like to pretend I can cook. I really can't.

But I think I may have defied all laws of what is up and down yesterday by making something

that is actually edible.

It was beautiful. They were beautiful. The whole world was beautiful.

And then I ate one. And it was like dancing in the rain. (really? you say.)

I had to have more. It was perfect - warm, sweet - but not too sweet, slightly gooey in the middle,

properly sugared on the outside, and perfectly thick.

{and for all of you who may care - I really don't care if you do or don't, they were healthy!

I was pretty proud of myself. No sugar {sucanat!} and I used self-ground flour.

And they were still amazing! This never happens to me!

Every time I try and make a recipe healthier, they come out way

too chewy or hard or bitter or course.

But these were simply addicting.}

Anywho, the weather is amazing and it makes me want to dance like a...{don't you hate it when

you can't finish your metaphor?}...we'll just let this one be a fill in the blank.

We are rocking the 70 degree weather on the east coast.

It makes me unspeakably happy.

Since it is October, and I'm ready to start feeling fall-ish {word? yes.},

I brought out my vest but wasn't ready to put to pair

it with a turtleneck. So I just paired with a tank and it's all good.

Is it just me, or does that look painful. and dumb. and who would volunteer themselves for this?

But I must say that even though I have no idea whatsoever of what

takes place down on the turf {that's what you call it, right?},

you can get some amazing/awkward/alarming photographs.

My Grandfather took me out to dinner at the most amazing place.

My current foodbaby will testify to this.

thin crust + garlic + sundried tomatoes + artichokes + feta cheese = a very happy Adelyn

Granddaddy.

Guest Post: The Truth About College

so what’s the big deal about college?

That’s what I always thought. I mean, everyone knows how much fun it is to stay up till 4:30 am studying for a Spanish test or turn in papers that you spent hours on and then get it back with a C scratched in red ink across the top…pain, got to love it. Anybody got that “How to Train Your Dragon” reference? No…okay. Not everyone is a Pixar/Disney movieholic. But anyways, as soon as I got to college, I discovered the multiple other things that there were to do. And I have decided, out of the goodness of my heart, to share them with you. They are as follows:

You make up crazy dances and perform them for the entire freshman class at a talent show

Yes, I know, we are not dancing but we don’t have pictures of that. This is just

pictures of my entire hall. They are awesome.

You go to dances, not take them seriously, and wear fairy wings

You give everyone on your hall a Disney name and then make coloring pictures for

their door. I am Peter Pan.

You go to highlighter parties and wear crazy things

You try to pick up napkins with straws in your mouth using the straws like chopsticks.

You get dressed up and go to the President’s house for a dessert and Bible study.

President Trible has an amazing house on the James River so it’s fun to take awesome pictures outside.

You sit on a landing in a stairwell and welcome people visiting CNU in an attempt to make them feel

more welcome and inclined to come the CNU next year.

You take awesome pictures with a Harry Potter wand.

You climb a rock about 20 million times

You get introduced to cotton candy (that’s my awesome roommate in the middle)

You go to football games and get free tropical smoothie cups

You take awesome pictures in front of green screens
(that’s me on the left if you’re not sure)

AND….you get to help start new churches on campus!!!!!!

I’m so excited about Elevation starting. It’s a church that is based out of Charlotte NC and we are

starting a church here on campus where we will play our own music (I’m on the worship team) and then

we stream the sermons from the church. It’s gonna be AWESOME!!

So that is just some of the things you do. There are multiple other things that happen like midnight pizza

parties, or puddle sliding, or thrifting. I’m kind of a thriftaholic…let’s be real folks, college student +

college student budget=lots and lots of thrifting.

So yea, that’s kind of my life in college right now…so much work and school stuff ALLLLL the time.

The thing about doing a photoshoot in a grocery store is

that you get the craziest looks from people.

And then you get those awkward moments when you're like 'go ahead, we don't care if

you're in our photograph."

and then they give you that 'as if I would want to be in a photo

with you?'

Isn't this dress great? I found it on my thrifting escapade and it's kind of

made my week. or month. or century.

I got it for $10 with a pretty schnazzical overcoat.

I was lacking anything fancier than maxi skirts and pheasant blouses and

needed a 'buisness' outfit for a debate that I was in.

{yes. a debate.}

I've been wearing it almost everyday for the last week.

{Don't judge. You do it too.}

It's my new favorite skirt, dress, suit, and such.

I want to enter in Allie Photography's photo challenge, but am having a ridiculous

time attempting to pick one photo.

The challenge this week is to pick a photo I am proud of.

I've narrowed it down to six

but can't decide between them.
