dress: thrifted (or a hand-me-down. I've had it forever and have no idea where it came from), skirt: thifted, cardigan: thrifted, shoes: kmart (no shame), earrings: thrifted
If it were socially acceptable, I would wear a formal dress 349 days of the year. (The other cluster of days would be dedicated to black jeans and a chambray top.) I just love the funky colors, crazy prints, and embarrassing stories that come to mind whenever I throw one on - this happens more than it probably should. But sadly, it ceased to be socially acceptable to flaunt your Cinderella dress once you reached the unfortunate age of 12. So now I just hide my formal dress under a skirt and cardigan and nobody knows better. Except for the bag lady at the grocery store. She seemed to know something was up - those intuitive grocers! Though I'm not sure what gave it away - the polka dot hem creeping out from under my skirt or the twirling and dancing that took place on the cake decorating isle.
Happy Monday, lovelies!

Oh, my gosh, that is the cutest thing I have ever seen. You've been pinned, m'dear.

That dress is absolutely adorable. Ha! Ditto to Cinderella dresses. Although, more often then not, I do prefer my yoga pants for their ease and comfort :)
ReplyDeleteLove that idea of layering a skirt over a dress! Gotta try that soon...
