Monday, April 9

what formal dress?

dress: thrifted (or a hand-me-down. I've had it forever and have no idea where it came from), skirt: thifted, cardigan: thrifted, shoes: kmart (no shame), earrings: thrifted

If it were socially acceptable, I would wear a formal dress 349 days of the year. (The other cluster of days would be dedicated to black jeans and a chambray top.) I just love the funky colors, crazy prints, and embarrassing stories that come to mind whenever I throw one on - this happens more than it probably should. But sadly, it ceased to be socially acceptable to flaunt your Cinderella dress once you reached the unfortunate age of 12. So now I just hide my formal dress under a skirt and cardigan and nobody knows better. Except for the bag lady at the grocery store. She seemed to know something was up - those intuitive grocers! Though I'm not sure what gave it away - the polka dot hem creeping out from under my skirt or the twirling and dancing that took place on the cake decorating isle.

Happy Monday, lovelies!

Thursday, March 22

meet the photographer and other fun stuff.

(I hope you chuckled at those as much as I did. There was a good amount of ladylike (ha!) snorting and rolling on the floor over here.)

Cameron, blog readers.
blog readers, my photographer, little bro, and fellow cohort in anything that involves chocolate, Cameron.

he's cute.  nearly 14. and as tall as me. <--- this little lady (that's me!) is not ok with this. emphasis on little.

In other news I finally got around to setting up a pinterest and twitter. It's about time! Am I right or am I right? So hop your little bums right over there and follow me so I don't feel like a total loser!

Happy Thursday, lovelies!

And for those who have asked, I do have a bloglovin' account! See it here!

Tuesday, March 20

that time there was a rainbow coming out of my head

skirt: F21, shirt: Old Navy, bracelets: gifts from my Nana, sandals, necklace, sunglasses: Target, ring: gift from Lily,

Sometimes I start editing my photos and realize I have rainbows sprouting out of my head.
And sometimes I get that song stuck in my head...double rainbow...so intense...
Sometimes I dance around in grocery stores with my new broom ("no really. that wasn't me hitting your bum. It was my new broom! see, it hit your bum. not me..")
Sometimes I like to add random periods. just. because.
Sometimes my hair forgets it's not a poodle.
Sometimes I'm sitting in the car. driving places. singing my little head off. And I look over and the guy sitting in the car beside me is singing the same song. (darn you, radio!)
Sometimes this above situation results and rapid radio channel surfing, awkward avoidance of eye contact, and pulling away from him as fast as possible (afap?).
Sometimes it results in synchronized steering wheel hitting and head nodding.

Happy Tuesday, lovelies!
